Take a look around your bathroom and chances are there’s a different product for everyone.
One wash for the kids. Another for you. Something else for your partner. Before you know it, the bathroom is full of bottles, all doing slightly different versions of the same job.
But does the whole family really need separate skincare?
Not always.
Everyone’s skin is different, and there will always be times when someone needs something more specific. But for everyday cleansing and moisturising, we’ve found that having products our whole family can use has made things a lot simpler.
It’s actually one of the reasons we created Zojee the way we did.
Do children and adults need different skincare?
Children’s skin and adult skin aren’t exactly the same, and skincare should always take individual needs into account.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean every person in the family needs a completely separate wash and moisturiser.
For everyday skincare, the basics can be quite simple: cleanse gently, moisturise regularly and look after the skin barrier.
For families navigating sensitive skin, keeping the routine simple can also make it easier to know exactly what you’re using each day.
If sensitive skin is something you’re navigating with your child, our Sensitive Skin in Children: A Gentle Guide for Parents takes a closer look at sensitive skin and how to approach everyday care.
What should you look for in family skincare?
If you’re choosing skincare that more than one person in the family will use, we think it’s worth looking beyond who is pictured on the bottle.
Look at the product itself.
Is it made with sensitive skin in mind? How does your skin feel after using it? Does your cleanser leave skin feeling comfortable? Does your moisturiser absorb nicely without leaving everyone feeling sticky?
And importantly, is it something your family will actually use?
You don’t necessarily need the longest ingredient list or a complicated routine.
You need products that make sense for your skin, your family and your everyday life.
We talk more about simplifying everyday care in How to Build a Gentle Skincare Routine for Sensitive Family Skin.
Sometimes simpler really is easier
Family life already comes with enough things to think about.
Skincare doesn’t need to become another complicated routine with different bottles, different steps and different products for everyone.
That doesn’t mean using fewer products is automatically better, or that everyone should use exactly the same thing. It simply means that when you find products that work well for your family, your routine can become a lot easier.
That has certainly been our experience.

Why we made Zojee for the whole family
When Jon and I were developing Zojee, we wanted to create products that our whole family could actually use, including us.
We didn’t want Zojee to be something we only reached for when caring for our child’s skin.
Jon and I use the Head-to-Toe Wash and I-Got-You Cream ourselves too, and having the same everyday products in the bathroom has genuinely made things a lot simpler.
There are fewer bottles. We’re not thinking about which wash belongs to who. We simply reach for the same products as part of our everyday routine.
That simplicity was always part of what we wanted Zojee to be.
Our Head-to-Toe Wash is one wash for hair and body, while our I-Got-You Cream is an everyday moisturiser made with sensitive family skin in mind.
Both contain ingredients we chose with purpose. Our Wash includes niacinamide, glycerin, postbiotic ingredients and sodium hyaluronate, while our Cream brings together niacinamide, postbiotic ingredients, moisturising ingredients and three ceramides.
If you’re curious about why niacinamide has a place in both formulas, we recently shared more in Niacinamide for Sensitive Skin: What Parents Should Know.
Does that mean everyone should use exactly the same products?
No.
Everyone’s skin is individual.
There may be times when someone in your family needs something more specific because of a skin condition, allergy, sensitivity or advice from a healthcare professional.
For us, whole-family skincare has never meant pretending everyone’s skin is exactly the same.
It simply means creating everyday products that can work across the family, so you don’t automatically need a separate bottle for every person in the bathroom.
And for our family, that has made everyday skincare feel much easier.
A simpler approach to family skincare
There’s already enough going on in family life. One wash we can all reach for. One cream we can all use. Products thoughtfully formulated with sensitive skin in mind.
For us, skincare is one area we wanted to make a little simpler.
One wash we can all reach for. One cream we can all use. Products thoughtfully formulated with sensitive skin in mind.
It’s how we use Zojee in our own home, and it’s exactly what we hoped to create when we started.
One wash. One cream. The whole family. Sorted.
