Thank you for being here.
Over the past few weeks, we've shared some of what we've learned about sensitive skin and the journey that led us here.
But before we get any closer to launch, we wanted to take a moment to share something more personal.
The reason Zojee exists in the first place.
Like many things in life, it started with our daughter.
When our daughter was two and a half, she was diagnosed with autism.
She also has a speech delay, which means she isn’t always able to let us know when something is hurting, uncomfortable, or not feeling quite right for her.
Around the same time, she was experiencing patches of eczema.
She would scratch until her skin bled, and there were moments when we could see how uncomfortable she was, but we didn't always know how to make it better.
What looked like a small patch of irritated skin to someone else could become completely overwhelming for her.
There were tears, sleepless nights, and moments when we felt lost as parents.
More than anything, we wished we could make her comfortable.
Learning as we went
Like many parents, we started searching for answers.
We spoke with healthcare professionals, followed medical advice, and tried the treatments that were recommended to us, including steroid and antifungal creams when they were needed.
At times they helped manage her symptoms, but we also found ourselves worrying about how sensitive and delicate her skin seemed to become over time.
We wanted to better understand what was happening beneath the surface and what we could do to support her skin between flare ups.
That search led us down a path of learning about the skin barrier, the skin microbiome, and the importance of gentle, consistent care.
But we also learned something else.
There is no perfect routine.
There is no single product that solves everything.
Even now, our daughter still experiences the occasional flare up.
What has changed is how we approach it.
We focus on keeping things simple, gentle, and consistent, while supporting her skin through the ups and downs that come with sensitive skin.
The products we wished we had
As we learned more, we found ourselves wishing for skincare that felt different.
Products that were gentle enough for sensitive skin.
Products we could feel confident reaching for every day.
Products that supported both skin and hair without turning bath time into a complicated routine.
That idea eventually became Zojee.
Not because we had all the answers, but because we wanted to create the kind of skincare we were looking for ourselves.
For families on a similar journey
Every family's story is different.
Some families are navigating eczema. Some are navigating sensitive skin. Some are supporting children with additional needs. Many are doing all of these things at once.
Parenting can feel overwhelming at times, especially when your child is uncomfortable and you're doing everything you can to help.
If there's one thing we've learned, it's that the small everyday moments matter.
A calmer bath time.
A little less discomfort.
A routine that feels simple instead of stressful.
Those moments can make a bigger difference than people realise.
Why we're here
Zojee was created from our family's experience and our desire to make everyday care feel a little gentler.
Not just for sensitive skin, but for the parents doing their best every day too.
Along the way, learning about the skin microbiome changed the way we thought about caring for sensitive skin. If you'd like to learn more, you can read our article, What Is the Skin Microbiome and Why It Matters for Sensitive Skin at Every Age.
